The best pizza you can make at home

You must have seen so many food videos this quarantine. I know that because I have done that too! And if you are a true pizza lover, you must have tried making it at least once. Or at least thought of it. What if I told you that making pizza at home is cheaper? Let me walk you through the simplest method of making an excellent pizza at home.

It's simple. Three steps are all you need to do.

  • The Pizza base

  • The sauce and toppings

  • The baking and eating

It's not a big deal. If you want to enjoy a good pizza, make it simple and easy. If you have an eye for detail, explore more ways to make pizza. I'm showing the first method- simple and easy.

Pizza Dough

The Pizza Base

Ingredients:

  • Warm water

  • Sugar

  • yeast

  • All-purpose flour

  • Salt 

  • Oil

Procedure:

  1. In a bowl, pour warm water and dissolve sugar in it. Add a teaspoon of yeast in it and let it bloom. (roughly 10-15 min)

  2. Add All-purpose flour, salt, and oil (1 tsp) and make a soft dough. (Knead for at least 15 min for best results)

  3. Make a nice ball and spread oil over it to avoid sticking to the bowl.

  4. Cover with a damp cloth or a cling wrap and let it rest for 1-2 hours. (Overnight would work too)

It gets double in size.

  1. Punch the air out and knead for 7-8 min.

  2. Spread the dough with thicker edges on a pan.

  3. Poke the base with a fork for uniform baking.

Your base is ready.

The sauce and toppings

There are many ways to get pizza sauce:

  • Use ketchup

  • Add garlic, onion, tomato ketchup, and spices to tomato puree, heat it and use

  • Buy the sauce

It's your choice.

Toppings

The best thing about homemade pizzas is that you can customize how much ever you want. But if you have no idea what to put, here are some suggestions.

Onions, capsicum, bell peppers, corn, meat, olives, jalapenos, cottage cheese (paneer)

(If you are the weird type, go ahead with your pineapples)

Cheese

There are so many types of cheeses to use, but mozzarella (pizza cheese) is the best. I like to add some cheddar too. It gives a beautiful golden colour on your pizza.

Baking and Eating

You have your base, sauce, toppings and cheese. Assemble them in the same order as mentioned, and be generous with the cheese. Oil the crust and place it in the oven for 180-200 degrees for 15 min. (Preheat at 180 degrees for 10 min)

 

Voila! You have a delicious pizza (if you did it right)
